Up one level

5.3.22. 70304 Lutsk Water Utility

In 1999, the Lutsk Water Utility discharged 22,840,000 m3 of wastewater.  The following quantities of polluting substances entered the Styr River with this wastewater volume: BODt (19 tonnes); oil products (12.33 tonnes); suspended substances (300 tonnes); dry residue (15,200 tonnes); sulphates (1,320 tonnes); chlorides (1,606 tonnes); ammonium nitrogen (340 tonnes); nitrates (201 tonnes); surfactants (1.073 tonne); iron (10.96 tonnes); copper (1.256 tonne); zinc (0.891 tonne); and nickel (0.285 tonne).

In 2000, the volume of effluent discharged by the Lutsk Water Utility was 22,090,000 m3.  The following contaminants entered the Styr River with effluent discharges from the Lutsk Water Utility over 2000: BODt (309 tonnes); oil products (8.838 tonnes); suspended substances (309 tonnes); dry residue (13,300 tonnes); sulphates (1,312 tonnes); chlorides (1,597 tonnes); ammonium nitrogen (254 tonnes); nitrates (331 tonnes); surfactants (1.105 tonne); iron (12.37 tonnes); copper (1.105 tonne); zinc (0.53 tonne); and nickel (0.331 tonne).

The Lutsk Water Utility contributes 0.38% to the total volume of effluent discharges in the Dnipro Basin.

Major contaminants contributed by the Lutsk Water Utility to the total surface water pollution load are copper, ammonium nitrogen, BOD, and iron.
