5.3.17. 590007 KhimProm Chemical Plant in Sumy

In 1999, the total volume of effluent discharged by the KhimProm Chemical Plant in Sumy was 4,207,000 m3.  Over that year, the following quantities of major contaminants entered the Sula River with effluent discharges from the KhimProm Chemical Plant: BODt (3 tonnes); suspended substances (1 tonne); dry residue (2,115 tonnes); sulphates (1,385 tonnes); chlorides (462 tonnes); ammonium nitrogen (8 tonnes); and iron (0.211 tonne).

In 2000, the KhimProm Chemical Plant in Sumy discharged 5,145,000 m3 of wastewater.  Together with this wastewater volume, the Sula River received major contaminants in the following quantities: BODt (1 tonne); dry residue (3,546 tonnes); sulphates (1,702 tonnes); chlorides (549 tonnes); ammonium nitrogen (22 tonnes); nitrates (8 tonnes); and iron (0.4 tonne).

The KhimProm Chemical Plant in Sumy accounts for 0.088% of the total volume of effluent discharges in the Dnipro Basin.
