5.3.14. 530231 Mirgorod Water Utility

In 1999, the Mirgorod Water Utility discharged 2,932,000 m3 of wastewater into the Khorol River, which also received the following quantities of major contaminants: BODt (32 tonnes); oil products (0.291 tonne); suspended substances (32 tonnes); dry residue (4,399 tonnes); sulphates (315 tonnes); chlorides (1,568 tonnes); ammonium nitrogen (2 tonnes); nitrates (26 tonnes); surfactants (0.685 tonne); and iron (0.572 tonne).

In 2000, the Mirgorod Water Utility discharged into the Khorol River 2,577,000 m3 of wastewater, containing major contaminants in the following quantities: BODt (35 tonnes); oil products (0.263 tonne); suspended substances (34 tonnes); dry residue (3,360 tonnes); sulphates (268 tonnes); chlorides (1,087 tonnes); ammonium nitrogen (2 tonnes); nitrates (25 tonnes); surfactants (0.582 tonne); and iron (0.231 tonne).

The Mirgorod Water Utility accounts for 0.044% of the total effluent discharge in the Dnipro Basin.

Major contaminants contained in effluent discharged by Mirgorod Water Utility and contributing significantly to surface water pollution in the Basin are: BOD, surfactants, oil products, and ammonium nitrogen.
