Up one level

5.3.10. 530230 Lubny Water Utility

In 1999, the total volume of effluent discharged by Lubny Water Utility was 2,099,000 m3 per year, including 4,000 m3 of untreated effluents.  In 1999, major contaminants entered the Sula River with effluent discharges from the Lubny Water Utility in the following quantities: BODt (26 tonnes); oil products (0.017 tonne); suspended substances (30 tonnes); dry residue (446 tonnes); sulphates (206 tonnes); chlorides (226 tonnes); ammonium nitrogen (7 tonnes); nitrates (8 tonnes); surfactants (0.084 tonne); iron (0.619 tonne); copper (0.021 tonne); zinc (0.008 tonne); and nickel (0.013 tonne).

In 2000, the Lubny Water Utility discharged 1,893,000 m3 of wastewater, including 4,000 m3 of untreated effluent.  The 2000 quantities of major contaminants received by the Sula River with effluent discharges from the Lubny Water Utility are as follows: BODt (33 tonnes); oil products (0.019 tonne); suspended substances (28 tonnes); dry residue (2,481 tonnes); sulphates (186 tonnes); chlorides (743 tonnes); ammonium nitrogen (7 tonnes); nitrates (18 tonnes); surfactants (0.057 tonne); iron (0.51 tonne); copper (0.019 tonne); zinc (0.003 tonne); and nickel (0.009 tonne).

The Lubny Water Utility accounts for 0.032% of the total effluent discharge in the Dnipro Basin.

Priority contaminants contained in effluent discharges of the Lubny Water Utility and contributing significantly to surface water pollution are copper, ammonium nitrogen, BOD, and iron.
