Review of Scoring Results

Following completion of the scoring tables, the evaluation results derived using the proposed scoring methodology were analysed, and weighted scores were derived for each Hot Spot in the following subcategories: (1) General Description; (2) Characterisation of Effluent discharges; and (3) Pollution Load. Further, weighted scores were also calculated for each of the 100 major polluting sites in the Pollution Control Category (see Table 5.1). For the purpose of this exercise, specific weighting factors were selected for each of criteria employed in this analysis. The scoring results are presented in Table 5.1.
A detailed characterization of the 22 priority Hot Spots included in the short list is presented below.
